In the new statistics,令和8年9月13日～9月19日September 13, - September 19, 2026令和8年9月20日～9月26日September 20, - September 26, 2026平成17年1月より、国際収支統計関連の見直しに伴い、本統計における対内及び対外の分類基準を、建値通貨から証券発行体の居住性に変更し、「対外及び対内証券売買契約等の状況（指定報告機関ベース）」とするとともに、商品別区分の拡充（短期債の新規公表）を行った。

指定報告機関とは、「外国為替の取引等の報告に関する省令」第21条により財務大臣が指定した銀行等、金融商品取引業者、保険会社、投資信託委託会社及び資産運用会社をいう。
